We are excited to be collaborating with The College of Paramedics to help support members who may be facing mental health difficulties or challenges as a result of their work.

We understand the work of a paramedic demands a lot of resilience to cope with the daily impact of trauma. To help paramedics sustain a level of wellbeing and self-care, as well as process difficult events, Links are able to offer up to 12 one-to-one therapy sessions and/or monthly supervision groups. Sessions are fully funded by the College of Paramedics, and Links will require a membership number to avail of the funded service.

Supervision Groups

Group Supervision can be defined as “Communication between two or more staff, intended to enhance performance and effectiveness in carrying out the requirements of their post.” A supervision group is a chance to reflect with others in a confidential space.

The purpose of the group is not to tell other people what to do, nor is it group therapy, but can become a really supportive and healthy place for professionals and/or staff members to offload, create a shared understanding and enhance emotional wellbeing.

Group members will be encouraged to bring a particularly challenging work experience to discuss with the group and within the confines of confidentiality. The group supervisor will facilitate a shared learning process to help individuals process the difficulties attached to this incident and integrate into practice.

Supervision groups become a healthy source of support and learning which will aid the work of the paramedic.

Groups will meet at a designated place or online for 2 hrs each month over the course of 1 year.
